Water is one of building blocks of human body, but also the worst polluted due to human activities. Purifying it with sustainable and eco-friendly methods is urgent to produce potable water for increasing global consumption and also to avoid water exploitation. Green chemistry and bio-economy have inspired Davis to make bio-membrane for water treatment which not only filter micropollutants, but also transform them into non-hazard compounds (bioremediation). His current aim is develop biocatalytic membrane for hormone degradation.
